Lessons from the Hospitality Industry for Pest Control

Chocolates Under the Pillow? “Chocolates Under the Pillow Aren’t Enough” is the title of a book I discovered by Jonathan Tisch, the CEO of Loews Hotels. I loved what Jonathan Tisch had to say. His words are very similar to those of Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, someone I admire greatly. I would hope that someday, people would think of me as the person, and of Hearts Pest Management as the company, that brought that type of total quality mentality to the pest control industry. I know we are not yet there, but we are trying with all our heart. Listen to the words of Jonathan Tisch: “In this difficult environmeent, offering a good product or a useful service is no longer enough. Today’s consumers are looking for something more – a relationship with an organization that will truly enrich their lives. As a result, organizations are discovering that the only sure way to establish strong and lasting connections with thier clients or customers is by providing them with experiences that are unique, memorable, delightful, comfortable and deeply rewarding. And this is exactly what the best hoteliers have always speicialized in doing.”

This is NOT what even the better pest control companies have specialized in doing. A choice few pest control companies are truly attempting “the unique, the memorable, the delightful, the comfortable and the deeply rewarding.” With Hearts pest control service, our goal is to go well beyond the service. We want you to know us and for us to know you. We want to be your partner in creating a peace of mind that many find hard to achieve these days, both due to pests in the environment and to personal, family, social, professional stresses that make it hard to achieve these results. We want you to feel that we are communicators. We aspire to be “great communicators” both within our expertise and as human beings relating to human beings, whether the issue is schedule, budget, coordination, education or green pest control.

We hope you will join us, as we learn from each other and as we work at providing more than “chocolate under the pillow.”
