Here’s how it works:

Hearts Pest Management Employees will receive:

1. 2 hours of vacation per blood donation
2. $100 every four donations

Why We Encourage Blood Donations

When I worked at ADP back in the early 90′s, they had hundreds of people providing blood donations at their main headquarters. They didn’t offer a payment, but they did offer vacation time. At that time, ADP was responsible for a large portion of the donations in that region. With the resources at their disposal, they were able to create an excitement to promote the social goal. I wonder how the program is doing now as people have become much more distracted by technology. I’m grateful to ADP for teaching me about the value of blood donation and incentivising me to do it. Since than, I have donated blood 50 or more times, including apheresis or blood platelet donation. Each apheresis donation is equivalent to 8 regular donations. While the process of blood donation is longer, it does not result in blood loss, only the loss of an acceptable number of blood platelets.

We have had the vacation benefit in place for several years, but our employees have been too busy or tired to go donate. So now we are really putting our money where our mouth is.
