Letter from the President of Hearts Pest Management:
Dear customers and neighbors,
I have lived in Poway since 1999, when I came to California with my wife, who took a position here in the pharmaceutical industry.
When the bottom dropped out ot the high technology field, I explored new fields, combining my expertise in management and technology with a love of the outdoors and agriculture that I developed as a child in the boy scouts and living on farms in Israel.
Here I am in the picture above, to the left, in back on my manager's little girl and with my two sons beside me.
I take pride in all the employees that have come to work for me, such as Curtis, front and center, an expert in landscape and commercial pest control and probably the best bed bug expert in San Diego. Allison, our HR manager, is a Poway native who has grown with the company since shortly after I purchased it in 2002. Vince, to the far right, also is a Poway resident and serves as my production manager. Tony Perez, (barely visible on the left side), a long time Poway resident, brings a huge amount of landscape pest control experience and a passion for pest control. You'll see some rave reviews for him as well as others on our testimonial page. I am proud that we have many military veterans on staff.
Our company has become a leader, not just in Poway, but throughout the region. We were the first company in southern California to achieve an environmental practices certification called EcoWise Certified. This is a San Francisco Bay Area certification which I aggressively sought for our company, which give us credentials in the organic and green pest control field that you can not find with any other company in San Diego.
Many people come to us for complete solutions that they cannot find anywhere else, such as for total decontamination and cleanups. Many families find that rats and mice are totally out of control in Poway and the result is a totally contaminated attic with bad air quality. Well, Hearts will totally clean up the attic, vacuum and reinsulate.
Bees are a common problem in town. Bees commonly fly above the canyons in wind channels and nest in attics and walls of homes that overlook orchards and landscapes with plenty of nectar. Grant that we will never remove bees unless they are posing a danger to people. Bees are dangerous in the wrong locations and can easily inflict life threatening and very painful stings.
Should you have gopher problems.... well who doesn't!.... we have the answers with total control ground fumigation.
We have a very comprehensive program for bed bugs, which is becoming a problem for upper income folks who travel the world. Almost all birds carry bird mites. Fortunately, we have probably the only experts in the eradication of bird mites in San Diego.
Of course, like every other town in San Diego, the reputation is that we live on an ant hill. In addition to our organic program, we offer a variety of effective pest control schedules to treat for ants, spiders and other common home invading insects. We are here to find the right combination of schedules and price ranges to meet both your tolerance level of pests and your budget.
Hearts has had tremendous recognition as a company that supports its employees, with a nomination for best employer in 2007 and a full page article in the Union-Tribune "A Good Buzz." Unlike most companies that hire blue collar workers, we treat them like any other professional, with compensation well above average and outstanding benefits not found in the pest control industry. By doing so, I am confident that they will serve you better and meet your highest expectations.
We are extremely appreciative of the trust and commitment shown to our pest control services in Poway.
With gratitude,
Gerry Weitz, President
Hearts Pest Management
